What's My Image

What's My Image was a website that allowed you to make snap judgements about people based only on a photo. Users could upload photos of themselves and then ask complete strangers to make guesses about the details of their private lives.

I was part of a team that built the site in 2005 for Brian Kernighan's Advanced Programming Techniques class at Princeton. What's My Image became quite popular on campus and logged over a million votes during its first few months online.

What's My Image was taken offline shortly after graduation.

Press Attention

While studying our data set of votes for interesting trends, we found a rather scandalous one: our voters assumed that women with larger breasts would also have lower GPAs.

We announced this in a press release that was picked up by thousands of news outlets and generated hundreds of thousands of new votes on our site.
